Taking PerfectMatch.com for a test drive was an interesting process. If you ever wanted to know all about your personality and what you truly want in a relationship, the free Duet Compatibility Profile will do it.

The Duet Compatibility Profile

When you first sign up with PerfectMatch.com, it takes you right into the Duet Compatibility Profile. The questionnaire has 5 parts. The first 4 parts address what you want in a partner and relationship:

• Essentials
• Values & Ideals
• DealBreakers
• Life & Lovestyle

The last section of the profile, Duet Analysis, identifies your personality style. It asks you questions having to do with:

• Romantic Impulsivity
• Personal Energy
• Outlook
• Predictability
• Flexibility
• Decision Making Style
• Emotionality
• Self-Nurturing

Fine Tune Your Personal Profile

Once you’re done with the compatibility profile, you’ll immediately go into your personal profile. You’ll get to upload up to three photos with your free account, and add some information about yourself that isn’t available from your Duet Compatibility Profile. This is your chance to explain yourself in your own words.

View Matches Instantly
When you’re ready to see who matches up to you, simply click on the list matches section. The matches are quite accurate and you’ll find that there’s a fair amount of them to browse through, even right after you’ve just completed the profile.

Side by Side Profile Comparisons

The site has a unique feature in that you can bring up your compatibility profile along with someone else’s profile side by side. That way, you can see exactly where you two match up and where you differ.

Dating Videos Available

Another unique feature is PerfectMatch.com’s Dating On Demand. It allows you to have a video made of yourself to add to your profile.  This gives potential partners insight into what you’re really like in real life, which could sway someone to make that final decision to contact you.

Dating Advice from Relationship Expert

If you’re a dating disaster, you can take advantage of all the great tips and guides that relationship expert Dr. Schwartz shares with you in the Love and Life Blog. You can also take quizzes to find out more about yourself and what you want in a partner.

Extensive Search Capabilities

If you’ve been through your matches and just haven’t found “the one” you can always use one of the 5 ways to search the members database. You can do a quick search or keyword search for one or two terms. Or try a compatibility search and only browse members with a specific number of your matches instead of all of them. You could also do the custom search or watch some member dating videos using the Dating On Demand Search.

Long Set Up Time

PerfectMatch.com does have an accurate matching system; however it does take a while to set it up. You’ll likely spend approximately 30 minutes completing the Duet Compatibility Profile and then another few minutes finishing your personal profile.

No Instant Messaging

The site doesn’t have any instant messaging capability but you’re free to email as much as you want when you are a paid subscriber. You aren’t able to connect with anyone if you are free member.

Limited Photos

You only get to upload three photos if you are a free member and eight if you are a paid member. This is much less than other dating sites.

Restricted Connections

They have a platinum members group that only allows people who have signed up for the Platinum level to access it. These singles seem to be more committed to finding someone, which puts others at the Premium and Basic levels at a disadvantage because they can’t contact the Platinum members. However, if you are Platinum member, you can connect with anyone on any level.

Smaller Matchmaking Community

While it does have over 5 million members, it’s not as large as some of the other matchmaking sites. Of course, the lower membership rates compensate for that.

Worth the Time and Money to Find Love?

Overall, the site does its job finding you love matches that will interest you enough to become a member so you can connect with them. You can really feel PerfectMatch.com is looking to connect as many people as possible to establish long-term relationships. It provides you everything you need to succeed in finding a fulfilling relationship – the people you are most compatible with and support through expert advice.

The cost isn’t budget busting at all, especially if you sign up for a three or six month membership (36.95 per month and $33.33 per month, respectively). If you want to try it out for a month before committing to a multi-month membership, you’ll pay $59.95 for each month.

With its matching system, it may only take you a month to find the one you’ll fall in love with so you may not need to sign up for the multi-month membership. It’s worth a try considering the features and the cost.
